ConVerge: Chris Treggiari & Peter Foucault MobileArtPlatform, 4–8pm | FREE | ybca.org/converge | Presenting Treggiari and Foucault’s Mobile Arts Platform (MAP) project and Mobile Screen Print Cart, an interactive, neighborhood-generated social sculpture inspired by the design of a classic teardrop trailer that is towed behind a vintage Vespa scooter. The Mobile Screen Print Cart explores the varied history of community posters in the Bay Area, while giving the viewer a platform to create their own original, individual posters that will dispersed throughout the Bay Area.

Works by J.D. ‘Okhai Ojeikere and Gordon Parks, 5–8pm | FREE | MoAD is the scene for beats by DJ Craft Spells. The MoAD Salon will feature iconic photographs of Gordon Parks, Life magazine’s first African American staff photographer, and one of America’s finest photojournalists, along with a continuous screening of Shaft’s Big Score, directed by Parks. The 3rd Floor (main) gallery will feature the first West Coast showing of the works of J.D. Ojeikere, a Nigerian national treasure whose images focus on preserving cultural traditions in the face of Nigeria’s change from colonial rule to independence.
