1 )  California Historical Society | 678 Mission St @ 3rd

Explore Yosemite, 5–8pm | FREE | From 5-6pm enjoy special docent tours of our exhibition, Yosemite: A Storied Landscape and then settle in from 6-7pm and see a mix of our San Francisco silent films with a curated mix of music chosen by our archivists!

2 )  Cartoon Art Museum | 655 Mission @ 3rd

 Reception with Ben Seto (Skull Bunnies), 5–8pm | FREE | Join the Cartoon Art Museum for our November Third Thursday featuring our Small Press Spotlight artist Ben Seto (Skull Bunnies). Meet Ben and check out his work and other exhibitions currently on display while enjoying a drink at the Cartoon Art Museum.

3 )  Contemporary Jewish Museum | 736 Mission St @ Yerba Buena Lane

Third Thursdays Live at the CJM: Eric and Suzy Thompson, 6:30–7:30pm | “Hardly Strictly Warren Hellman” is activated through live music, featuring musicians that have performed during Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Eric and Suzy Thompson are devotees of obscure old-time American music. Using fiddle, mandolin, Cajun accordion, and more, they bring early twentieth century sounds into the present.

Turkey Time! Open Mic Around Songs from Broadway’s Flop Musicals, 5–7:30pm | FREE | MP+D turns into a pop-up cabaret for a night: a baby grand piano, original sheet music from Broadway’s flop musicals and a mic…You do the rest! This is a time to find your musical self, unleash your creative talent and bring hidden jewels to life! Free and open to the public.

6 )  Root Division | 1059 Market St. in between 6th and 7th St.

un•bound•ed Artists’ Panel & Reception, 5-8pm | FREE | Root Division presents un•bound•ed, an exhibition of genre-crossing works investigating form, perception, and cognition. Come view the work on display and join curator Brent Hallard and participating artists Prajakti Jayavant Zachary, Royer Scholz, and Kirk Stoller in a spirited conversation about their practice and this exhibition of international artists.  

7 )  UC Berkeley Extension Art & Design Gallery | 95 3rd Street @ Mission

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Visual Arts Graduate Susan Richardson, 5–8pm | FREE | Susan Richardsons’ work explores the relationships between language and image. She creates in a variety of forms, most often-mixed media works on paper, monoprints, mobiles, and artists books. “Take These Broken Wings.” are inspired by a Beatles’ song Blackbird, which in the lyric, Take these broken wings and learn to fly.”

8 )  Yerba Buena Center for the Arts | 701 Mission St @ 3rd

ConVerge: Grrrl Power, 4–8pm | FREE | This month’s ConVerge presents performances, workshops, and interactive installations emphasizing empowerment, creative resistance, and DIY ethics in conjunction with Alien She, an exhibition examining the lasting impact of the punk feminist movement Riot Grrrl, on view in YBCA’s Downstairs Galleries.
