Third Thursdays Live at The CJM: Laurie Lewis, 6:30–7:30pm | $5 after 5pm | On select Thursdays, Hardly Strictly Warren Hellman will be activated through live music, featuring bands and acts that have performed over the years during Hardly Strictly Bluegrass (HSB). This month: International Bluegrass Music Association calls Laurie Lewis “one of the preeminent bluegrass and Americana artists of our time.”

Authors in Conversation: Inside This Place Not of It: Narratives From Women’s Prisons, 5–8pm | FREE | Join Inside This Place, Not of It editors Robin Levi and Ayelet Waldman in conversation with Dr. Monique Morris about the challenges faced by African American girls and women in the prison system and the movements for prison justice and reform. Explorations into the Rise and Fall of Sign and Artificial Languages, 5–8pm | FREE | Presented in conjunction with “Living with Endangered Languages in the Information Age,” this program will feature a live performance titled “Resonant Shift,” a media dance collaboration by Gregory P Dawson and Kadet Kuhne, as well as a panel discussion with Eric Theise and Scott Kildall, moderated by Jonathon Keats.
